The latest issue of Schau ins Land moves from the prehistoric to the cutting edge. There are features on the latest genetic research into the human remains of Neanderthal man found in the Neander valley, near Dusseldorf. Back to the present we have a report on the impact of all the new building work at the centre of Europe's most modern city, Berlin. In the same cosmopolitan spirit, we also have a fascinating feature in this issue of Frankfurt am Maim, nicknamed "Mainhattan", because of its many skyscrapers. The changing face of Germany is also reflected in the German language and in 19-03 we have a very entertaining interview with Bastian Sick, author of two best-selling books on German grammar. Another interview not to be missed is with Tom Tykwer, director of the film of Patrick Süskind's Perfume which is currently taking Germany and Europe by storm.
